Edward Hugh, dubbed by The New York Times as "the blog prophet of Euro zone doom"〔(''The Blog Prophet of Euro Zone Doom'', Landon Thomas Jr., The New York Times, June 8, 2010 )〕 is a Welsh economist now based in Catalonia, Spain, where he has been living since 1990. He speaks French, Catalan, Spanish and English. Born in Liverpool, Edward Hugh, who "attracted a cult following among financial analysts",〔(''Cassandra Redeemed'', Catherine Rampell, The New York Times, June 9, 2010 )〕 studied at the London School of Economics but was drawn more to philosophy, science, sociology and literature. His eclectic intellectual pursuits kept him not only from getting his doctorate but also prevented him from landing a full-time professor’s job. By inclination a macro economist, his obsession with trying to understand the economic impact of demographic changes has often taken him far from Economics and towards fields like demography, anthropology, biology, sociology and systems theory. In particular his work has been centred on the study of demographic changes, migration patterns, and the impact of these on economic growth. In 2014 he published his first book entitled "¿Adiós a la Crisis?". He wrote the book in Spanish and it discusses the economic situation in Spain. He is currently working on a book with the provisional working title "Population, the Ultimate Non-renewable Resource". Apart from his participation in A Fistful of Euros and his own personal blog, Edward also writes regularly for the demography blog Demography Matters. He also contributes to the Indian Economy blog. == References == 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Edward Hugh」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
